Barcelona youngster Marc Bartra has lauded the positive influence of Carles Puyol and feels he forms a solid defensive partnership with the veteran centre-back.The 22-year-old featured alongside Puyol for the full 90 minutes in Tuesday's 3-0 Liga win over Celta and Bartra stressed their defensive strength at the Estadio de Balaidos was no coincidence.
"I’m very comfortable alongside Puyol. When I can’t get to the ball, he does and vice versa," Bartra was quoted as saying on the official Barcelona website.
"We talk a lot on the pitch and the most important thing is to bring security to the team.
"When we play together, Barcelona don’t concede goals."
Bartra has made seven appearances in all competitions for Barcelona so far this season.
