Valencia failing in attack & defence - Djukic

Valencia failing in attack & defence - Djukic
Los Che's coach says his team have not yet found the right balance, but insists that they are improving following their shaky start to 2013-14

Valencia boss Miroslav Djukic believes his side are still failing all over the pitch but insists that they are on the mend under his tutelage.

Los Che currently sit 11th in La Liga after 10 gameweeks, having taken a disappointing 13 points from a possible 30.

Their last outing finished in a 4-1 defeat to newly promoted Villarreal, but Djukic believes he has the coaching experience to turn his side's form around.

"We have not yet found the appropriate combination with the team so as to play like we have intended, we need time for this to arrive, we are not doing things right in attack or defence,” Djukic told reporters on Tuesday.

"We cannot concede so many goals, we must cut short this drain of goals and from there go looking for the win.

"We must look to the games that we have influenced, where we have been competitive and that we have kept a clean sheet in.

"There are adjustments and things to get used to and these take time, they are not easy. We must try to find the key to fluency in attack and a solid defence.

"In many places I have found that combination, why can I not do so again here? This team have enough quality, spirit and everything to reverse this situation and maintain it."

Djukic met with Valencia chiefs following his side's latest loss and he is sure he has the backing of president Amadeo Salvo, despite the poor start to the 2013-14 season under his wing.

"The president has the best intention in the world and certainly has given me that message to continue until June, but I as a professional feel bad about myself when we lose a game," he added.

"I do not like going out because I do not know what to tell people, I feel bad with myself.

"As a professional I want to win games and when I do not, I do not feel good, because I want my Valencia to win and to work well, then we are all happy.

"The president’s visit is always important, he was with us. The content of the meeting the other day is between us, but he has been with us and it is important that he is in good times and bad."
