Nemanja Matic expects Chelsea legend Didier Drogba to receive a hero's welcome when he returns to Stamford Bridge - but the Blues midfielder is confident his side can dump Galatasaray out of the Champions League on Tuesday.

Drogba left Chelsea in 2012 after eight sparkling years at the club and will return to Stamford Bridge for the first time for the second leg of Galatasaray’s Champions League last 16 clash against the Londoners after a 1-1 draw in Istanbul.

Matic played with Drogba during his first spell at Chelsea and says the Ivorian deserves recognition from the Blues fans, although the 25-year-old believes the Blues will win the tie and should be considered among the favourites to win the Champions League.

"I was here when Drogba played for Chelsea and he’s a great player,” Matic told Goal at the launch of the PUMA evoPOWER football boots.

"He's a legend of our club. It's going to be good for him and for all the fans for him to come to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea fans won't forget him because he's an excellent player and very good person.

"You never know in football and you can't say 'Chelsea are going to win' but we believe. Chelsea are always one of the favourites to get to the final."
