Not for the first time, the American has turned the needle away from his much-inked body to prove himself a safe pair of hands elsewhere other than on a football field

Well this is hardly a suprise, is it? The much-inked Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard has been trying his hand on the other side of the needle at a tattoo parlour again.

The American, who returned to Premier League action with his team-mates on Saturday as Everton drew 2-2 with newly promoted Watford on Saturday, took time out to prove he is a safe pair of hands elsewhere.

Howard has a proud history with tattoos, including showing off an impressive canvas of inkings for animal rights organisation Peta last year in a bid to help stop animals losing their furs to make clothes.
