Manchester United could sign Juan Cuadrado by Sunderland clash

Juan Cuadrado could make Manchester United switch
Manchester United are set to make a £32 million bid for Colombian World Cup star Juan Cuadrado, with it being suggested that the Fiorentina ace could be in line to make his debut for the Red Devils on Sunday.

This has been reported by the Express, who have suggested that United have been considering a swoop for the right wing-back for some time now.

Transfer movement
It's not surprising that Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is set to act after he watched his side suffer a disastrous opening day defeat at the hands of Welsh outfit Swansea City. The Red Devils went down by two goals to one, and certainly looked in need of major improvement.

Cuadrado could play a key role at Old Trafford, with United lacking quality down the right hand side of the pitch. The Red Devils do of course have Adnan Januzaj, who looks set to become a superstar in future years, but the likes of Antonio Valencia, Ashley Young and Rafael da Silva, who have all played down the right in recent time, have all struggled to find their best form of late.

The Colombian ace certainly proved his credentials at this summer's World Cup, and he'd certainly prove a major loss for Italian outfit Fiorentina if he was to complete a move to Old Trafford, but Van Gaal now seems intent on adding to his squad.

Summer so far
United fans will certainly be frustrated at what they've seen so far in this summer's market. Having loss experienced stars such as Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra and Ryan Giggs, United fans would have been hoping for a number of marquee signing.

Ed Woodward, Van Gaal and Co. have so far, however, failed to produce the goods. Teenager Luke Shaw and Spanish ace Ander Herrera have arrived, but United fans were hoping for so much more.

The signing of Cuadrado, then, would be a step in the right direction for United, but fans will be hoping for one or two more to follow him before the close of the window. The Red Devils are certainly in need of a midfield enforcer, as well as further improvement in their back-line.

Manchester United fans: Do you think Cuadrado would be a good signing? Have your say below!
